The pixel shows what happens on your site. Search Console and Google Ads add what happens before the visit: which searches bring people in, and what your ads cost. Each is a one-time link per site, with one Google consent screen.
What each one adds
| Connector | You get | Where it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Google Search Console | Queries, clicks, impressions and position for your pages. | The Search view in Explore, organic findings in Feed, and Search Console answers in Ask. |
| Google Ads | Spend, campaigns, keywords and ads, joined to the conversions they bought. | The Ads view in Explore, paid findings in Feed, and the ads tools your agent can call. |
Both are optional. Without them those views stay empty, and Ask says so rather than guessing.
Connect one
- Open Settings → Connectors with the site you want selected.
- Tap Search Console or Google Ads. Google's consent screen opens.
- Sign in with the Google account that can see that site in Search Console, or that owns the Ads account, and allow access.
- You land back in Settings. The first sync starts at once and data fills in within the hour.
Only the site's owner or an admin can connect. Anyone else sees the row with a note that the owner or admin connects it.
A second site, same Google account
The link belongs to your account, not to one site. Once you have connected, the next site shows a row that says Use [email protected] for example.com. One tap links it, with no second consent screen.
Which property or account we use
- Search Console. We pick the property for you. A domain property (
sc-domain:example.com) comes first, then a URL-prefix property whose host matches your site. If none matches, the connector shows the properties that Google account can see, so you know to switch accounts. - Google Ads. We use the first Ads account that Google account can reach. If you have several, connect with the account that owns the one you want.
What we are allowed to do
- Search Console is read-only. The permission is Google's read-only one.
- Google Ads has no read-only permission, so Google's consent screen asks for the full one. The sync only reads. Changes happen only if you ask your own agent to make them, and then only for owners and admins: every change previews first and applies only when confirmed, pause and enable are always available, and a campaign created through the agent starts paused. Budget changes and campaign creation stay off until the site's owner allows them.
When it does not work
| You see | Do this |
|---|---|
| No refresh_token returned | Google remembers an earlier grant. Revoke it at myaccount.google.com, then connect again. |
| No GSC property matches your site | Add the site in Search Console, or connect with the Google account that already has it. |
| The row shows an error, or a stale last sync | Tap the row and connect again. It reopens Google's consent screen, which is how a link is renewed. |
| Search numbers stop two days ago | Normal. Search Console data arrives about two days late. |
Next: use Explore and Feed to see the data, or connect your own agent to query it.
