How Ask works
Ask is how you get answers about your own site without learning a dashboard. Pick a question or type one, and Bowtie answers from your real numbers. It is free to start.

Query mode covers conversions, traffic, events, errors, and site health (overview, speed, uptime), over the last 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. It makes no AI call, so it keeps working after your AI trial is used up.
The free trial
- Every account gets a free trial of AI mode. You do not need a card or an API key.
- The trial is a one-time allowance for your whole account, not a daily or monthly one. The Ask page shows how much of it you have used.
- When it is used up, AI mode pauses and Query mode keeps working. Nothing is charged.
- Paid AI usage is coming. There is no way to buy it yet, and this page will change when there is. See Pricing.
Ask by email
You do not have to open the app. Reply to your weekly report with a question, or write to [email protected].
- The answer goes to the address on your account. Always, whoever the message appears to come from. Write from that address too, or you will get a reply asking you to sign in instead.
- One site per question. A reply to a weekly report is about that report's site. For a fresh email, put the site's domain in the subject line.
- Limits: plain text questions up to 2,000 characters, and up to 5 answers per address per day. Attachments are ignored.
- Email answers use the same free trial as AI mode in the app.
What Ask can and cannot answer

If the data is not there, a good answer says so instead of guessing. Treat an answer that cites no number as a prompt to ask again with a time range.
Privacy
- Ask reads only your own sites. It cannot see another account's data, and each question is limited to the sites on your account.
- In AI mode, your question and the specific figures needed to answer it are sent to Anthropic to write the reply. Your database is not shared. Query mode sends nothing to an AI provider.
- Your conversations are kept for 90 days so you can reopen them, and you can delete any of them from the Ask page. See the privacy policy.
